Patch with salicylic acid disc, specially designed for the elimination of calluses from the toes and the sole of the foot. The hydrocolloid adhesive allows the salicylic acid to remain in the correct position.
A callus is a localized thickening of the skin, caused by repeated pressure or friction in one area, often on the foot. The body produces too much skin cells to try to protect itself from pressure, thus forming a layer of dead and hardened skin. The continuous pressure forces the dead skin cells to assume a typical shape, penetrating into the deeper skin layers. When it reaches the nerve endings, the callus becomes painful.
The corn patch combines the healing benefits of hydrocolloid with a salicylic acid disc that helps dissolve the callus. Hydrocolloid creates an optimal environment for callus softening and protection, while salicylic acid helps dissolve the dead skin that makes up the callus, thereby accelerating the healing process.
